I just found out I'm pregnant this weekend. I'd estimate I'm about 4 weeks or so. It took forever for me to fall asleep and actually stay asleep... I must say the neighborhood fireworks wasn't helping! Anyway I didn't know if it would harm the baby so early in the game here.

Yes... I know... ask my doctor. I've got to call today to try and find one! But between now and the first appointment... I'd like some advice. This is my first child. Thanks!

Tylenol is the only drug that is 'safe' during pregnancy, but I don't think that includes "PM". What's in Tylenol PM?
Yes, you should ask a dr.
Soon enough honey you'll be feeling that pregnancy fatigue and you'll have no trouble getting some sleep. In fact, you'll be the opposite. Trying to stay awake and alive enough to function, lol :)

Good luck and congrats. Stay off the PM until dr oks it. Regular Tylenol is fine.

It varies between doctors, but I've always heard from my doctors that the only medication to take safely on your own when pregnant was regular Tylenol/acetominophen. That is all I trusted. Even when I was prescribed medications for allergies while I was pregnant, I didn't take it. A doc will prescribe something other than acetominophen if they feel the benefits outweigh the risks. Sometimes they do. Without doc approval, though, I would try to stick with the safe one - Tylenol. Good luck and I hope you feel better.

Yes. (my doc said it wouldn't harm the baby) I find it works really well since you can't really have a lot of things to help with ansomnia unless okay's by your doc. Also if you are waiting to talk to your doc just to confirm, try this:

1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

In a large mug, stir together the milk, vanilla and sugar. Heat in the microwave on full power for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Stir in nutmeg, and serve hot.

Good luck!

If you have a Bath and Body Works in your area, get the aromatherapy spray that is called Relax. It has a blend of eucalyptus, rosemary, spearmint and peppermint. If I have trouble falling asleep I spray it on my pillow and I'm out like a light. No side effects, either. Good luck with your baby! :)

Tylenol PM is a drag for u to fall a sleep, and u can't take that wile u pregnant.....not good for the baby, no matter how many weeks r u.
U can only take a regular Tylenol, doctors will tell u that's the only thing u can take when u pregnant. He told me same thing.
Don't forget u can't take anything that has aspirin., Tylenol PM has that and a lot~!!!

there are certain meds that are ok to take while pregnant. but you are better off checking with your doc or any doc for that matter before taking anything. maybe your doc can give you a list of what's safe over the counter so you only have to ask them once. good luck with the baby,.
