Miss is used for single women, Ms is used regardless of a person's marital status and Mrs is obviously used for a married woman. I'm a miss! :D

I am a Mrs. or a Ms depending on my mood.
Did you know that there is no period after Ms because it is an invented word and not an abbreviation? This is of course in the US where we put periods after Mr., Mrs., Dr., etc.

David's wife is a definite Mrs. (when she worked at a daycare she disliked the practice of the teachers being referred to by Miss with the first name) and his mom is a definite Mrs.

On here I am referred to as Miss Ellie, sometimes.
But, in real life I am a Ms.

I prefer Ms., but I've been known to answer to any of them. It's just a "title", and really doesn't mean anything.
