Nicely said. I agree with you 100%. It is also outrageous that we give billions of $$ to other countries, yet the free health care that is provided is so poor and inconvenience that many rather stay sick than using it. Also Lot's folks are losing their homes in foreclosures, including many of military personnel who served in Iraq. I think that's outrageous. Now at the same time big fat corps. are making a killing, which has caused the stock market going up considerably, but it has no foundation and it will crash for sure, since 75% of hard working Americans whom provide most of our budget by paying Taxes, are not really in good shape financially. Well that's a pretty solid indication of ...?????????????????
Best Regards.

We all eat, so let us socialize all the farms so everyone can have food.
Oh! We tried that. It was in the USSR and they turned the bread basket of Europe - Ukraine - into a place that did not produce enough grain, so grain had to be imported from Canada and other Western countries.
This was even after the Communists stockpiled the grain and stopped the peasants eating it and let them eat each other instead - doubt me? Read Robert Conquest's "The Great Famine" and "The Great Terror".
Socialism is always a failure. Health care is no different. So unless you are going to offer some racist view, that we are superior to Russians, you have no "out".
Look at the big success we have made in Iraq and the Post Office. We need to do that to the health care system.
I suppose your next question will start, "If we can put a man on the Moon, then why can't we..."
You are a slow learner. You have overlooked the most important public policy issue determination of the 20th Century - socialism does not work.

And just how to you go about paying for all this health care? Let the Govt pay for it? Where do you think the Govt's money comes from? Basically, you want the working Americans to pay for YOUR health care out of the taxes we pay!
Why should the working American population support yet another social program? You can go buy health insurance from one of the numerous companies out there, there are even programs to help with the costs, you just want another "handout" from the Govt at the taxpayers expense.

My niece's hubby is a fire fighter. contained in the final week or 2 he has been stated as out on innumerable hoax calls and had rockets fired on the motor vehicle, placed out a planned fire in a row of derelict, terraced homes on a similar time as idiots threw bottles and rubbish on the fire combatants, and dealt with burning burning autos on a similar time as the fools who probable pinched them contained in the 1st place jeered and drank beer. can we supply them adequate understand? for sure some in our community do not. Why do workers would desire to combat for each measly pay upward push? through fact politicians earnings from persons's stable will to furnish centers at the cheap and finally come across a fashion for somebody to make a earnings from it.

Here is why you don't want socialized healthcare: Take a look at Canada. To get a doctor's appointment, you need to be pre-approved by the government. When you do get the doctors appointment, if they find a tumor and tell you that you have six months to live, you will then have to apply to the government again to have the operation done. The agency reviews your files and they might decide to put on hold or even reject your application because there may be two thousand people ahead of you in line with tumors that may be a little more serious, yet you only have six months at best to get this worked out. Men, women, and children die every day in countries that have socialized healthcare because they must wait in line (like at the DMV) and can't get the services they need. The people who would like the option of buying health insurance most of the time can't get it because its unaffordable up there because the government has made it so that it is not needed. So many people don't have the choice but to stand in line.
At some point my friend, people need to begin taking responsibility for their own well-being. It is NOT the government's job to hand out health care to citizens. There are so many government programs out there which lighten the burden we carry so that healthcare will become more affordable, yet I have watched welfare pay for a breast augmentation, I watch people at Walmart everyday use food stamps for food, but turn around and use their own money to buy cases of beer, cigarettes, video games, cd's etc.
Now, more than ever there are jobs which offer healthcare packages, and facilities are required by law to offer a certain percentage of their services at no cost for charity each year.

Quite frankly I'm tired of paying for others problems. I sit and watch my neighbors who are on government assisted housing & food etc... They drive better cars than I do, they hold a party every other weekend with all the works from moonwalks to fireworks. 2 year old kids are walking around in $120 sneakers that will fit them only for 6 months. And now folks are telling me I have to have universal health care so because they can't afford it? I'm sorry but I'm throwing down the BS flag.

The war in Iraq will end, however, the illegal criminal alien invasion continues. We have a war from within going on in this country. Deport/elimininate those illegals, then we would be saving billions a year in services and have a health care system that is available to all. When we stop having to pay for the uninsured illegal aliens, our insurance premiums will go down, thus making it something that is affordable.

You are misguided. You must be listening to left wing liberal loonies. We have the best health care system in the world, in the US. Everyone has access to health care. What is at issue is how to pay for it. Nothing is free. In the US right now, about 275 million people are covered by insurance, Medicare or Medicaid.
If you want to pay for someone else's health care, go right ahead. I am sure you will find unpaid bills at any hospital or doctor's office. I am not willing to pay for anyone else's health care.

I suppose you are in favor of socialized healthcare? Beware of what you wish for, or you are likely to be saying Komrade to everyone after this country becomes communist. Socialism is the in-between step between capitalism and communism. If people did more to make themselves successful instead of wanting government handouts all the time, this healthcare issue would be a moot point.
