I once started, then stoped, and now im going into it again, will it help me get in shape and lose extra pounds?

Any strenuous activity will help you lose weight. Your body has no idea what you are doing to burn those calories.

No. There are too many rest phases. Do a search for HIIT. Hi Intensity Interval Training. That will sort you out.

As long as you are burning more calories than your eating- you can lose weight through any exercise.

it probably would as it is a tiring sport and not many kick boxers are obese.

kickboxing can boost your calorie burn.
