Curmudgeon could not have said it any better. When you rule a people with an iron fist for many years, and then suddenly lose power and that oppressed people gain power, there can not help but be a sense that some revenge is in order. The answer was to take their possibly ill-gotten gains and make a run for it.
About time, as far as I am concerned, but that is just my opinion.

A few reasons:
1. They wanted to leave before the chaos started.
2. Safety reasons.
3. They were victims of crime and could not take it any more.
4. Land issues, like, farmers' land taken away from them.
5. Affirmative action.

No, you are wrong. Many of us stayed, even though it's difficult for us to find jobs and there is a lot of crime directed at us. However, we are determined to look at the example set by our first president, Nelson Mandela, and rise above prejudice and racial hatred and to make this a great country for us all to live in regardless of our colour or religion.

OBVIOUSLY, they feared repercussions from the Blacks whom they had abused for so many years. Also, some just refused to live in an integrated society.
