Don't worry. It is perfectly natural. Everyone is different, most girls start from ages 11-17. You should be worried if you don't get it by 18. My Aunt was 17 when she started her period for the first time, and she is perfectly fine. Don't even trip. The whole getting your period based on the whole mom thing is not really accurate. everyones body is different, and you will start when it's your time. I have a twin sister, and eveyone was like I bet you will start on the same day, and actually I started my period almost a whole 6 months before she did. So it really has nothing to do with your mom or sisters. Most girls start after having breats for 2 or more years, I'm sure you will start soon. Don't be in such a rush to start, you will be wishing you never started once it starts. good luck :]

Your period being based on your mother's is untrue. I got my period when I was 12...my mom got hers when she was 14. The latest a girl should get her period is 16, so your ok, don't panic, you'll get it soon. Everybody's different. If you need reassurance go to your doctor for a basic check-up and he/she will tell you. You'll be fine :)

nah thats not true. everyone is different and girls get them at varying ages. I got mine at 11 yet some of my friends didnt get theres until 15 or 16. its not abnormal not to have your period at 15. A dr can suggest tests such as hormone level tests etc but seriously i wouldnt be getting too concerned. are you developed in other areas such as getting a curvier figure and breasts? usually they all come within the same year or so (ie when you get period you usually get wider hips and thighs). if you're really concerned, go see your GP but otherwise dont panic, they'll come one day!!

I was 16, almost 17. My mother was much earlier, and so was my sister. They do say that if you get it late, that you change life earlier, however. Don't think that you can't get pregnant, however. You may not be experiencing bleeding due to other things such as stress.

You have nothing to worry about. A friend of mine got it when she was almost 16 and I think her mom got it when she was around 13 too. Girls all develop at different stages. You have nothing to worry about. Just enjoy your days without it.

do you play sports? a lot of the time really physically active people don't start their period early. Not sure if that helps you but maybe you should see a doctor. maybe you need birth control to help start and regulate your period.
