It's a nomination process, voted on by the mayor and the Walk Of Fame committee

it basically boils down to money...requires a certain number of nomination votes and dollars, usually provided by the celeb's fan club or "people"

There are several ways someone ends up with a star on Hollywood Blvd. If you have a really active fan club, they can enter your name for consideration. If you have a totally great agent and some money you stand a really good chance. Walk around sometime and look at some of the names. You wont recognize most of them. Let's face it-when Mickey Mouse gets a star before Anthony Hopkins-what does that tell you?
