President Clinton sold pardons and even pardoned his own brother and of course, a millionaire fugitive (after multiple large contributions of cash by the fugitives wife). I really don't see what anyone's problem with this is except that they want to see Libby serve time for testifying exactly the same way that Hillary Clinton did about her Whitewater records.

I guess it IS different...Bush did it for political pressure (according to you) and Clinton did it strictly for monetary gain. Selling your favors for money....what does that make Clinton? It's only different that Clinton's pardons were for sale. You can call me a liar all you want...but the cash donations AND the pardons are all documented.

With the presidency comes certain perks of the office you can commute or pardon any U.S. citizen if the crime you are commuting or pardoning was commited in the U.S. or it's territories. To receive the pardon you don't even have to be convicted of a crime just a suspect. Yes President Clinton may have commuted or pardoned all those people but he is a lawyer and was better suited than most to give commuted sentences or pardons. Besides you'll find a lot of the drug convictions where steeper than they needed to be because the war on drugs was prosecuted with extreme prejudice in the 1980 and early 1990's. As to whether or not the friend of Bush as you put it, deserved it or not doesn't really matter because it was a commuted sentence not a pardon. It's just some thing the anti Bush/republican people are using to to bolster their candidates. He got the commuted sentence because he bit the bullet for the administration to shut up the conspiracy nuts and the Democrats. The leak happened because the woman pissed of the wrong people at the agency, not because her hubby spoke out against Bush. Do I think his commuted sentence should be a major topic in the media no, but it sells better than the fact that the Army Corp of Engineers and the other branches of service have helped rebuild hundreds of schools and other important buildings in Iraq and Afghanistan. Which should be on all the evening news and front pages of the news papers. To bolster Support for are troops over seas they fight so you can have this feature on this sight.

Let me see.
Libby was convicted for perjury in an investigation that should have been complete the year before.
His sentence far exceeded the typical given out for perjury.
He has to pay a quarter million dollar fine, is a convicted felon on probation, his career, family and his name is ruined.
All for saying "I don't know" in a political witch hunt.
HE WAS NOT THE LEAK.
The president commuted his sentence. While Bush has done a lot of foolish things, this is not one of them.
This is a great thing, plain and simple.

Scooter deserves to be placed under the jail.
He outted a CIA agent.
There are many things in this world that one of our agents should have to worry about while on the job...BUT...being
outted by our elected officials should never be one of their worries.
Goind further, many people have lost their 'freedom' in this country by doing a whole lot less than what Scooter did and NO one commutes or pardons them.

i think of of you will probable want to do a Google on Ramos & Compean and learn the testimony of decision officer's on the scene and the U. S. criminal expert's fact, which exchange into publicly released. the regulations of engagement for border patrol officers state that they could use deadly tension to guard their existence or the lives of others indoors the execution of their household initiatives. No regulation enforcement officer is legally allowed to shoot an unarmed suspect indoors the shrink returned (buttocks subsequently), as that "fleaing" suspect poses no possibility to existence. Now, so some distance as committing against the regulation with a firearm, it quite is a Federal regulation, that there at the instant are not any exceptions in for wrongful use of a firearm by skill of a regulation enforcement officer, despite if, i think of that if making use of the firearm is the alleged crime, then it falls exterior of the reason of the regulation. the reason of the regulation exchange into to make harder sentencing regulations for various crimes using a weapon, like theft, burglary, rape, and so on. subsequently, i would not be unfavorable to the putting aside of the enforcement of that Federal claus indoors the regulation, yet I besides the reality that have faith those officers violated the regulation besides as many departmental techniques and could desire to have effects to their strikes.

No! He obstructed justice, lied and spent less time in jail than Paris Hilton.
Bush bought his silence as it was Bush who leaked the name anyway. Libby also worked for Bush! I see a big job at KBR for Libby probably making a few million a year!
Under Bush the country is rotting at its core. And the world, oh the world, the world knows this degrading, deeply humiliating show cannot be canceled fast enough.
Lori, Clinton didn't pardon a person in his administration that lied to federal investigators about how aCIA operatives name was leaked by George W. Bush!
Bush pardons rapists as well!

Hell NO! His @ss belongs in jail.
Lori K, you're a liar. Clinton CHOSE to pardon those people.Oh wait, it's only that way for Republicans. It's different though because he's Clinton and he's a Democrat. Bush commuted Libby's sentence to bow down to pressure from the Republicans and to boost his ratings.
