It didn't start in SLC. In Utah in the sixties, it was called Harmon's. Harmon held the franchise in Utah, I believe. Colonel Sanders started the franchise in Kentucky and as the name spread, different names were attached to it. Utah started with Harmon's and later picked up the national standard of Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Don't know where you got Utah from but it's called Kentucky style fried chicken and the colonel started it at his first restaurant in kentucky.

cause it started in Kentucky. the colonel (who i met, he was a very nice guy) started selling it out of the back of his station wagon. his wife cooked it in old fashioned pressure cookers and he took it on the road and sold it. Utah? never heard that one.....
