Yes. It has taken me a long time to get to this point but I do like what & who I am. I still have a lot of work to do. It was my nature to be negative & have low self-esteem but I'm learning to make peace with myself & be happy with who I am. As you said, the only constant in our lives is the self. From birth to death, you are the one that is there for you. So be there for yourself. Too many people neglect or even abuse themselves & suffer as a result. It is important to be a friend to you, take care of yourself. It is your best chance of survival & happiness.

I see a difference between who I am and what I am.

What I am:

I am lovable, but not always loved
I am generally trustworthy, but not always trusted
I am honorable, but not always honored
I am successful, but not always seen that way
I am mature, but not always seen as such

Who is the one who does not love me?
Who is the one that does not trust me?
Who is the one that does not honor me?
Who is the one that does not see me as successful?
Who is the one that does not think I am mature?

I am the one who does all of these things!

When I am in the right frame of mind, and behave as if all of the above are in fact true, then I like myself. More importantly, I love myself. And this is not arrogance or self-centeredness. Not at all. Because in the same way I love myself, I will love you, without fail. Those who cannot love others have failed to see the validity of their own dignity and worth.

An old saying, perhaps in a song, I believe, is that I can love you because I know I am loved.

Who I am, as so often mentioned in other anwers is not as important to me as whose I am.

First, I am my parents' son
Next, I am my wife's husband
Next, I am my children's father
Next, I am my neighbor's friend
Next, I am my client's hope for a better tomorrow
Next, I am my employer's team mate and helper
Next, I am my pet's provider
And finally, I am my Lord and Savior's servant, and no, I am not ashamed to say so.

With all of these to look up to, and to look after, I have less time to worry about me, and more opportunity to become the best me I can.

Perhaps with this perpective I can expect the following prayer to be answered in my life:

"Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request."
1Chronicles 4:10

Life is long for most and hard for everyone, but my perspective makes it easier for me to hang in there. Does yours?

I like my innerself, the last drop of my true self. But everyday, hr to hr, min to min, sec to sec. I'm trying to be better person because I know I still lack certain things and as times goes by you will start to see the gaps and holes in your character previously you haven't seen, I guess thats what the part of growing up is. I still have a long way to go and hope I never stop trying to be a better person. I guess no one is perfect but that shouldn't discourage us from being a better person.

I love what I am. My life has not been perfect I have really had some rough times and had to make some tough decisions but in the end I love who I am and where my life has been and where it is now. All of it has been an adventure and I love thunderstorms and my life has had it share of them. But I doubt I could ever change it even if I wanted to.

i love who i am. i wouldnt change it for the world, because i have found contentment in myself...i think of it this way, if someone likes me, they like me...if not well i wont waste my time or energy trying to change that or even find out why. there are very few things about my entire life i would consider adjusting...a more understanding father, a less caring mother...yes. but they play no role in who i am or what i become should i change. i am mine, therefore i decide what i change. but, i firmly believe that no matter who you are what you do, the good balances out the bad eventually and that everything happpens for a reason. so by believing that, there cant be anything i would set out to change. so yes, i like myself. alot.

I also, Love the outdoors a lot, and I do not like to see children being mistreated, or hurt by anyone, or anything. I also am an animal Lover.

Yes & No also.

For Yes - I like myself as I want to be part of society & I am
very honest with the persons around me want to have those
with me for ever.

For No - I have some bad habits due to which I feel uncomfortable with society and I want to take over those.

My feelings seems to be mixed. On one side I am utterly satisfied with who and what I am, and on the other side I hate myself and sometimes wish I was the opposite sex. But maybe it's not myself that I hate, but rather where/what life has brought me. Anyway, I guess I only show the satisfied part to others.

The honest answer is yes.

It's because I have lots of things I could be proud of like I know how to draw, play music, program a computer, etc. Of course nobody likes me 100% and I don't like me 100% either. BUT I like myself pretty well. Many hate but many like me, too! That's why I like me even better. B)

I don't like everything about me, but overall I like who I am. At 62, I guess that there are always things that could be changed but it is stuff that I can't easily change now and are not that big a deal. I weigh too much and am too opinionated. Oh well.
