I haven't had a ciggie since 1994 when I had a grand total of seven (in the entire year). I was stressed about my Mam taking bad at my sister's (300 miles away) on a two week holiday that turned into a two month recuperation.

All night at work I've been clamming for a *** so when I got out, I bought ten Lambert and Butler. I can only think that I've been since I've been stressing out about my imminent financial meltdown that only gets worse the more I try to get out of it, it's brought on the need for a smoke.

I've had two and I feel better already.

Now that I've had half the pack, I've noticed two things.

1. Cigarettes don't last long do they, two or three drags and they're all but gone plus. You only actually smoke about a third of each one. It's lying in the ashtray while I'm typing this, happily burning away to itself and .... yup, there's another one gone.

It is Prohibited !!! Suddenly, some say it is not. I stop and smoke with the confusion in my mind. How could it be prohibited when the tobacco comes from leaves and the paper comes from pulp. What a sinful act would it be to prohibit a cigarette without elaborating it. The true muslim will leave to the knowledgeable scholars to decide a person personal matter.

No I don't smoke any more.
started when I was 13 and smoked quite heavily till I was 33 and became pregnant, then I stopped. It was really easy as while I was pregnant cigarette smoke knocked me sick, and I have never smoked since. Can even go out and drink all night and don't feel like having one, that's the real test.
But when your stressed there is nothing better than a ***, when my dad died Mum hadn't had a ciggy for about 10 years, straight back on them!
Only problem Hun, the price of them now days won't help your financial meltdown :-)

No I do not smoke. I am glad I never have tried the cancer stick. To be honest when I am around people who smoke, even growing up my parents smoked (still do). I was constantly ill (queasy) and with headaches al most daily.

Ever since I have moved out, I do not allow people to smoke in my home and I have not had as many headaches and feel a whole lot happier. Also my clothes smell much freshier from the clingy smoke.

Don't let anyone stress you out.... if you feel stressed out, go to the gym and take out your frustration on na bean bag or the treadmill. Its good fun too! :-D

I smoke like a 1986 Austin Metro. btw. if you're only getting three drags, you're doing it wrong. try hanging the ciggie' from the corner of your mouth, rather than putting it in the ashtray. Your eyes might water, but you'll get more drags.

wish it was harmless.

Hey,

Well done, some record you have there! Shame you broke it, maybe you can start again?

I don't smoke and never would do. I think its a filthy habit and wouldn't want to damage the lungs of those around me, or myself!

Plus, I made a promise last Summer to somebody very special to me..that I would NEVER smoke. I'm NOT going to break his promise!

I know a lot of people say "Ah, I'm never going to smoke!" but a lot end up doing so. But, I really do mean what I'm saying! When there are people smoking near me, I hold my breath - I really hate it!

Thanks!

I smoked two packs a day until Dec. 19, 2002...the day my 37 year old wife had a heart attack...due to smoking. It was a blessing in disguise from a financial point of view: we could otherwise not afford to have taken two caribbean cruises and bought her a Lexus.

At $4.00/pack x 2 packs/day x 2 of us=$16/day x 30 days=$480 per month.

(I'm not preaching...I smoked for 22+ years)

Started at 14, gave up at 17. Probably explains why I have asthma.

I haven't had a cig in about 4 years. But I'll be honest and say I do love to be a little dazed and confused! ;-)
