From wikipedia I read
Texas Monthly, calling Paul "both deeply principled and wholly uncompromised," wrote in 2001 that he does not take money from political action committees (PACs), is not swayed by Congressional lobbyists, only votes on his "deeply held beliefs" and does not cut "backroom deals." They write, "The phrase 'honest politician' is an oxymoron; yet in the sense that Paul never, ever votes against his stated principles... the phrase describes him." Along with not signing up for a Congressional pension, Paul's Congressional office returns money to the government each year; in 2000, the sum returned was $50,000.[12]
what do you think of this man?? he is amazing

HE ROCKS!
Even though my vote counts for nothing (as evidenced by the '00 and '04 elections) he's still got mine. That's a good idea about the handouts, I'm going to do that too and also volunteer for his campaign. I've emailed everyone I know the link to his website. Maybe a grass roots campaign could be the answer. At least he gives us hope.

Ahhh - the integrity of good old Doctor "NO" - LOL
This info has been known for a long time by those that have followed politics - for all those out there that didnt know it but claim they have been following politics - I say to thee - poppycock.
All the nay-sayers who wish to bring RP down are only doing it because they know their free lunch is over once he gets into office....thnak god for that - its about time someone puts a stop to the government spending and corruption
Nothing more I would love to se then have the government shrink in size by 50 percent or more -
Heres one for all you people that hate RP - if he gets into office and eliminates the IRS so that you can keep 100 percent of your hard earned money - would you keep it all or would you send the government 15,000 dollars for nothing?
All of you who answered you would send in 15,000 email me so that I can give you my address - I would like some of that free money also - with it I could set up business that could help educate the chlcren of this country a lot better then our current public school system does right now
I have made this offer to people for more then 8 years now - but NOT one single person has every taken me up on it - I cant imagine why not

Yes, He is Amazing!
Here are some url's that may be of help in getting Ron Paul elected.
http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/Content?oid=258048
As you know Ron is pro Gold, here is a Gold site that may be the best all around site for up to the minute Gold info.
http://www.kitco.com/
The people I have talked to in my area mostly shun politics of any kind, and have never heard of Ron Paul. So, I'm printing out hand-outs to pass out, that inform people about his opinions.
This Ron Paul movement is growing by leaps and bounds as everyone I talk to is sick & tired of politics as usual, they do seem interested in these main things:
ABOLISH THE IRS! And tax imports.
ABOLISH THE FED! And allow the U. S. Treasury, under the control of congress, to issue money again.
REINSTATE THE GOLD STANDARD! Nobody knows that prices didn't rise for 130 years on the Gold standard, which is mandated by the Constitution.
I'm very proud to be a part of the new RON PAUL GENERATION!
Thank you.

To all of you who think that voting for Dr. Paul is a wasted vote, what do you call a vote for the status quo? How valuable is a vote for someone who had made a "career" out of enriching himself and his cronies at the expense of our Constitutional values and our pocketbooks? They are playing us, the voters, for suckers.
I intend to vote for Paul for two reasons...one, my principles will not let me vote any other way. Two, to send a message to anyone who is paying attention that I am fed up with the business as usual crowd in DC who keep handing us shoeless check in lines at the airport and dead bodies coming home from Iraq.
Why would anyone keep voting for these boobs? It can only be laziness and ignorance. And maybe a false sense of needing to belong to a popular group. I dunno. I can only do what I can do. I vote for courage and principle.

Ron Paul is a serving congressmen, so he doesn't get a congressional pension yet.
So just how could he return it ?
And according to the Federal Election Commission, he does accept PAC donations.
Wikipedi is not a good source of information all the time.

He retired? Actually it sounds great but the actual result is an ineffectual Congressmen since most of the things you stated are required to be done in Congress to accomplish anything. If he were in the majority, it would work but until something is done such as term limits, entrenched power and corruption are required to get anything done.
