I have a friend that I debate with on numerous occasions about this. She says the average person does not travel with sex in mind and my rebuttle is ``then what`s the point? I am very curious as to how America feels about this. We finally agreed that it comes down to a gender issue guys vs. girls but I still dont know

Tee hee...well I heard a statistic that men think about sex every four minutes (how would they get anything else done?!) so perhaps they have sex in mind no matter what they're doing. Including international travel.

I've only been to Europe once many years ago. Also went to New York City. Sex wasn't my reason for going. Nor was it my main concern when I was there. Sightseeing -- taking in art, architecture, landscapes that I had dreamed about was why I was going & what I was interested in. I was with a boyfriend at the time. We didn't have sex that often on the trip because we were usually too tired/stressed (well at least I was.) I can't imagine ever travelling for sex! I don't believe in casual sex anyway & I certainly wouldn't want to get intimate with someone so far away & not see them again. That would be heartbreaking. So no, it wouldn't work for me but I can't speak for other women in the world. I once met a girl who bragged she'd slept with several guys in Mexico (surprised she didn't catch anything!) but I don't know if that's considered normal. Maybe I'm old-fashioned.

I lust after photo-ops. I travel for the pictures...Of course now I can't afford to travel anyway but I'd love to go to Egypt to see the pyramids one day, or go to Greece (Santorini looks amazing & full of cats!) or go back to France, Italy & Germany...

Happy travelling! Bring protection!
:)

Dude. Most chicks here will say you're a dirty lil perv, but they are wired to think that way (deep down they love it). I say it's totally fine if you keep in mind a few things:

1. There are many STD's, such as HIV, syphillis, hepatitis, so always wear a condom Always.
2. Some foreign chicks just want your dollars, which may be OK to you, but make sure they don't want something more- like your wallet, bank accounts, etc.
3. Don't be disappointed if you don't accomplish your goal. Sometimes, it is best to let things just happen rather than having a goal in mind that might be unrealistic. Some foreign chicks are easier to get than the Lilith Fair feminists we have here states-side (European chicks tend to be more liberated sexually; American chicks say they are liberated but they're often not). A bonus: Euro chicks like nude beaches a lot more than uptight Puritan-ancestry, Lilith Fair-attending, man-hating, American chicks. German chicks are really kinky too.
Spanish chicks are Catholic, so I leave it up to you to judge the best approach there.

I don't think it's wrong. But certainly arouses a lot of questions.
I don't think I would like travel to southest asian countries with the idea of sex in mind. Don't want to get set up by some drug smuggling gangs (true stories). I would be very careful if I were you. My advice to you is, go to countries that aren't really cheap, so your life isn't cheap too, especially if you're traveling to that country for sex.

Good God! Thinking of having casual sex while traveling gives me the CREEPS! EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!

You CAN'T seriously think that the only reason to travel is to have SEX??? What about learning about other cultures? What about seeing wonderful sights? What about meeting great people?

If you are serious, you NEED HELP. Even for a man, this is WRONG.

I'm American.

It's common, when you travel to other countries there are many factors at place.
1 You seek for new experiences, new people, new adventures.
2 The distance, it gives you the sense of freedom since no one will find out what you'll do
3 To be with someone new gives you the change to re invent yourself. Be NEW and exiting.
So I say it's normal, just remember you have to live with yourself when you get back home to your wife/husband/girlfriend/mother and so on...

I feel that most MEN think that way. But I feel that if you want when you are out traveling then get it! I really don't travel often but if I had the urge I would get the sex if it came my way.

Does the idea of getting laid in a foreign land absolve one of all guilt and responsibilities? Or is there an anatomical difference in foreign women?

Exploitation of young women and children, and maybe young men as well anywhere, is wrong. As wrong as the very thought of it.

There is nothing "wrong" about traveling or staying home with sex in mind!

What's the point?

The point is to see and experience new cultures... and no, not experience as in sex.

Haha!
