Okay, I have been a tomboy most of my life wearing tee's and shorts. Very sporty well I've grown out of that and I want to start dressing more feminine, classy and sophisticated. What pieces could I wear that would accentuate that?

specific names please (not shirt jeans) (best : tunic, heels)

Well, you can always go fro the name brand. You never find a tomboy wearing a name brand (anything from coach, juicy, etc.) Use a purse when you have a chance. Also heels work all the time, but if you are walking a long distance that is not a bright idea. You also don't need to go expensive. Any store like forever 21 or charollett russe is good for girly not expensive fashions. good luck with your new perspective on clothing.

Start by adding pieces no boy would wear, for instance:
2-3 camisoles
2-3 halters
2-3 strapless [ tube or float ]
2-3 tank tops
Of course, all of these are in your most flattering colors!
Then get a few pairs of girly shoes -
girl print vans
fancy flip flops [ decorated straps ]
1-2 pairs ballet flats
Start looking for:
2-3 dresses to wear out - sundress, and a sheath?
2- 3 skirts, that you can transition into fall
2-3 jackets [ one denim, one velvet or embroidered, one eyelet or crochet ]
2-3 nice slacks - that show your shape, but aren't so tight we can count your freckles
2 pairs of great looking, feminine jeans
Add:
hair accessories - barettes, headbands, a few scrunchies
earrings
some classic and some fun - necklaces, bracelets, and rings
Go to:
a cosmetic counter in a department store - they can teach application, and help with colors - you don't have to buy anything from them, but could get the one thing you like, and buy the rest at CVS or WalMart!

definitely not joggers or trainers. Wear ballet flats or boots or pumps with a heel.

Stockings/leggings/pantihose or whatever you want to call them are very feminine, i love to wear them, they are beautiful.

Skirts and dresses are good, duh, lol.

Something I find to be extremely feminine and sophisticated are longish (but not TOO long. knee-length.) coats, worn with heels of some kind.

Get a feminine haircut too, grow it long if it's short, short hair is never really feminine, in my opinion, you can also use accesories like an alice band. Get some nice dangly earrings or a necklace or rings. Maybe also try a bit of makeup if that's your thing. Good luck. :)

i just got this tunic (i wear it as a dress because i'm short) earlier this week, it's cute. and it was only $10!

it's kind-of short, but i live in orange county so it's very warm. if you live in a cold area, you should wear it with black leggings/tights. that would be cute. with red shoes. if you like flats, wear them. if you're looking for a pair of pumps (those would go well too), there are lots of cute ones at payless. if you want to spend more money, bloomingdale's has lots of different designers to choose from. i like these marc jacobs

espadrilles would also go well with this outfit (that is, if you aren't wearing the tights; the tights would go well with flats or pumps). espadrilles are very summery. i'd wear these lilly pulitzer espadrilles.

if you're not a fan of pink, i'd wear these michael kors wedges.

dresses... dresses and more dresses... they are flattering, feminite, but you dont have to be overly girly... black, brown or neutrals if your not ready to go extremely girly...
learn to live in heals... and wear make up everyday... even if its only mascara and lippy...
