I between swimming, lifting weights, and running do 20+ hours per week. Swimming per practice, I do 10 in a week, I swim 5000+. Weights I do a hard workout 3 times a week and running I work on hills 2 times a week. Basically my body is broken down when I am training like this BUT it pays off in the end, ie conference champships. We swimmers jokingly call Ibuprofen Vitamin I because we always have to take it.... Thats about it though, being painfully broken down as long as u are eating properly. If not, you can destroy ur body pretty fast.

Why? Do you just enjoy working out?

Not being a medical professional, I might offer that many athletes have enlarged hearts due to all of their athletic practices. Remember that Olympic skater who collapsed? Your ticker is probably fine, but if you have an arhythmia, is someone around to help?
