My evening started off really nice.

I went to a baseball game. My team won. There were fireworks. It was nice and fun. As I was walking to my car, I saw a bat lieing in the parking lot. It looked dead so I walked up to it. Appearantly it wasn't dead cause it hissed at me. It didn't bite me but came pretty close.

I never knew there could be bats right in the middle of Dallas, Texas!

Moral of the story is this.....Don't walk up to a bat, even if it looks dead.

Thanks for reading. Just wanted to share my evening drama.

So what happened to the bat? You're lucky enough that you're not bitten by a "PESTE DOG". LOL

Anyway, thanks for the info I'll put that in my mind when I'm in Texas.

Hey there, Bats normally attack humans if they r threatened. If the bat was to be on the floor, it was liable to be hurt or weak from flying. U did a good thing not to stay long to find out what the bat was capable of doing to u. They can spit a fluid to blind u so u r darn lucky. Remember, bats or birds do get tired of flying after a while and especially if they fly long distance.
Sorry to hear that bad experience , good luck.

Awww, poor batty. Did you call the SPCA or the Humane Society? Its probably a really good thing that you weren't bit, because bats carry rabies as you probably know. You might notify your local Health Dept. about what happened so they can look for more of the little critters. Glad you're okay.

Yes I will miss you Adam. But let's thank God that the bat did not bite you and next time don't be so curious to approach a bat! That was funny though! lol

Aren't they scary lookin' up close?! :(

My mom spotted a bat between our screen and outer door. She threw boiling hot water on it to stun it, then proceeded to beat the crap outta it with a broom. The bat was long dead and there was my mom ... STILL hitting it!!

Even though bats are scary lookin' and can carry rabies ... I still like them, as all other animals. I think my mom scarred me for life! *sob*

A bat once flew into my husband and then hit the ground and died. Fortunately, my husband survived.
