About 80% of a babies heat comes from their head so I would say its normal if his head a bit warm. I would not worry about it and listen to the doc.. all babies are different. Congrats on the little one!

From the time my second child was born, his skin always felt hot to me. That problem went away when he started to sweat and now he sweats a TON. (To the point of sheets feeling wet like water was spilled on them.) I took his temperature a lot when he felt hot like that and his temp was always normal. Take your son's temp--rectally is the most accurate--and make sure it's normal. My guess is your son is probably fine, but I'm no doctor. If you don't trust what your doctor tells you, get a second opinion.

It's normal for babies to be warm, but it would seem like using a cap would make him sweat even more. I would just try to keep his head dry from all the sweating.

My son was (and still is at age 9) the same way. His cheeks also turn flame-red sometimes, but our doctor said that this too is normal. To keep your little one from sweating too much at night, move his bath-time to right before bed-time. This will also help him feel relaxed and fall asleep easier.

My son is 2 1/2 and his head is always hot. I finally convinced my husband to stop taking his temp when he was about 18 months.

He also has really hot feet when he falls asleep.

Congratulations on your little boy!

Every person is different. Sweat glands can be overdeveloped. Try a cap.

Newsflash, all mammals heads are warm......It isn't a problem, as you seem to think it is.
