People will try and blame it on strikeouts, but that's not the main reason.
The main reason for the low RBI total is twofold. First, Dunn simply doesn't get as many opportunities to come up with men on base as some other sluggers. Secondly, when runners are on base, Dunn tends to get walked a lot. In 2006, he had 299 plate appearances with men on base and was walked almost 25% of the time. He had an impressive .372 OBP in those situations, but it's tough to bring guys home if you're not swinging the bat. It was even worse in 2005, when he had a .437 OBP with RISP but again walked a quarter of the time. It's tough to do a ton of damage when teams are pitching around you all the time.
Sure, it would help Dunn to stop taking so many called third strikes. But, it would help more if pitchers actually threw to him with men on base, and if he had more opportunities.

Actually, it's several reasons. Dunn isn't a disciplined hitter. He's impatient at the plate. If he were like Tony Gwynn or Willie McGee, he'd get more RBI's. Another is he doesn't get the opportunities with RISP. He has a bad RISP avg. He also has a bad habit of strikeouts as well. Needs to cut down on them. Dunn also doesn't walk alot. Although, he walked quite a bit last year but was still among the leaders to strikeout. His batting avg was still low for someone who hit over 40 HR's. He needs to start being patient and walk more in order for him to be a better hitter.

Adam Dunn is hitting .259 this year and already has 102 strikeouts. He is right on pace to strikeout over 200 time this year. Do you realize that when Dunn puts the ball in play (when he doesn't strike out) he is hitting .395. So to answer your question, you can't drive in runs when you strike out. Of course, it doesn't help hitting behind Griffey who is driving in the runs before Dunn comes to the plate.

He strikes out a ****load and his homers mainly come off of solo shots.
If you look at this season as well as past seasons half or the majority of his homers are with empty bases. This season, so far, he has 12 out of 23 of his homers are solo shots.
Take a look at his situational stats over the years:

So to put it simple, he isn't driving in a lot of runs with runners on base. It's not all his fault, he walks a lot and his team sucks. But he does strike out entirely too much which doesn't help.

Because Dunn isn't a great hitter. He leads the majors in strikeouts and his career average is .247. He has struck out 102 times already this season.

Strikeouts are one reason. The other reason is no one gets on in front of him. No one on base only 1 RBI per homer.

He is consistantly in the top of the MLB in most strikeouts and if you don't put the ball in play nothing is going to happen.
