I tend to think that there are reincarnations until we get it right. Do I believe it? Not with any fervor. I certainly don't have any notion of what I was.

Theories of re-incarnation have a rich history, not only in Oriental philosophies and religions, but sometimes in those of the West.
The American thinker Ralph Waldo Emerson believed in it. And there was a story recently of a young American boy who recalled where the shot down plane was of a WW Two pilot, and much else about that pilots life. His parents concluded he was the reincarnation of that dead airman.
It forms a foundation of Buddhism. Also, Plato, the
great Greek thinker was a reincarnation believer.
On the other hand one of the Christian Fathers tried to refute it by linking population growth and decline, not to the number of 'souls' wanting to be reborn, but to earthly factors, like propsperous and perilous times.
There is possibly some esssense of ourselves that survives. Who knows? We'll all find out in person soon enough!

yes i do. though i don't believe you can tap into it and "psychics" can tell you all about them. look at what you are interested in. i personally believe i have at least 5 influences. ranging from everything like an old man or woman to a young child. if you have a childish behavior your entire life then they say its possible you have a child influencing your life, and with old men and women influences you with good ideas and personal morals. i feel i have one of each, most of the time i feel like they are conflicting and one every now and again takes more influence than others

I don't believe in past lives. I think every single being on our earth was created to be completely unique. I do think that people experience a lot of the same life situations so that perhaps you say to yourself, "wow, this must have been just how Cleopatra felt when she met Marc Antony" or something like that. There's only so many human emotions, ya know? So of course the ancients had some of the same emotions we do. Kind of cool when you think about it. . .

i kinda do believe in past lives, because it just seems a lot more logical to me than everything else.
since everything in nature is kind of a circle, like the four season for example, or rain, i don't understand why our lives shouldn't work in a circle to. we die and then come back again.
also, have you ever just known something or were good at something without ever someone teaching you? maybe that's because you learned it in a past life.

No need to 'believe'..
Try to visualise the 'memory' chip in us being removed ! Even yesterday is gone ! Everything in this universe is in the present. Only our mind, our imagination, our beliefs are in the past ! And, if it is about past, the dead past, why not stretch it to past lives !

The mind is a fertile ground for such flights of fancy.
Loneliness, boredom and a variety of states can lead to such theories.
