I told my friend that” I had a crush on him long back”. His reply was “ mission accomplished”.( what the hell does this mean?) Then he asked “what about now, how do you feel about me now?” I did not know what to say so I just laughed. He is one of my best friends and we are great friends but now I don’t have crush on him, but like him just the way he is. And I really do not want anything to happen between us. My friends have always said that he likes me since long back, but I do not think much about it because he never said anything to me directly. We have been best friends since last 10 years.
Am just wondering did I do wrong by telling him about my crush on him. Well we are really good friends and I thought he will laugh about it that’s why actually I said it. I really do not want things to change!! Please help. What should I do to make things right? I do not like this awkward situation, which I meant to end as joke. Please help

If the feelings were there once, and he's been your best friend for some time, and you're both unattached adults, that you should give him a chance. Best friends make good husbands.
"mission accomplished" means he was trying to get your attention and get you to like him.
I think if you look in your heart, you may be fooling yourself over not wanting things to change. If you love this man as a friend...

well there's nothing wrong with telling him u had a crush on him thats better than keeping it a secret.mission accomplished means he wanted u to fall for him and u did....he asked wat about now if u still have feelings for him now...u should tell him the truth...u could try saying this...ur my good friend n i thought it was important to let u know that i had i crush on u but now we have grown to know and love each other like brothers n sisters n my feelings are not like that any more. im really sorry if i caused u any pain but its better for me to tell u the truth than to just tell u a lie. i hope this does come between our friendship because i'v it for 10 year.but if u like him u should go 4 it and don't be a chicken n it seems like he have been trying to make u like for a very long time.

i think your bestfriend had a crush on you too! But if you do not want to have a "more than friend relationship" with him you should tell him or else he would assume that there is "something" going on between you two.
just say this...uh you must not misinterpret it does not mean that i had a crush on you before that you can pursue me to another level "lol"

Well, you could approach him and tell him that telling him that you used to like him long back was meant to be a joke, but never realized that he liked you before, too. Also, you could tell him that you enjoyed being his friend and enjoyed his company and hope that nothing you've said will alter your "relationship."

No , nothing wrong with telling him. But something is wrong with his reply. 'Mission accomplished' No one will understand what the hell he was saying. I'd probably get diff ideas.

just dont give him a hint which says that you were serious that day . i would prefer you not to talk about it . and even if you have feelings for him think about it a lot . because he s been your best friend all these years and if you guys break up it would be very difficult to digest . believe me i was in a relationship with my best friend and we broke up . it was horrible. try to talk about other guys and how cute they look in front of him .
this would suggest him that you were not completely serious with him .

If he doen't bring the subject up, try to put it behind you and just keep moving foward. If he does bring it up, ask him why he said that and then set things straight. After all you guys are friends and shouldn't keep secrets from each other.

You did nothing wrong. It's good that you told him.
tell him that you dont crush on him anymore & that you are thankful of that. he'll understand (i hope).
just go on being friends & forget about it.
