Yes...have recently been trying to learn them. I know almost all the common ones I see from day to day and have actually started a "butterfly lifelist" just like my bird lifelist.

I would think it would be a very interesting field of study. It's not something I personally do, but I'm sure there are plenty of lepidopterists out there! Check out the Lepidopterists' Society at the link below

I haven't studied them, but I love them and picked that as my nickname because of the special meaning to me of leaving the cocoon(stifling marriage) and emerging a beautiful butterfly(liberating divorce). I would certainly be interested in learning more about them.
