It's fake like 99.999% of the stuff about Deathly Hallows on the net is at the moment. As others have said it's a fan fiction (the seventh horcrux).

It's easy to think that there must be digital copies floating around but consider this, if there was a digital copy why did scolastic have to travel to Britan to pick up the hardcopy of the manuscript and bring it back to the US. Why not just send it electronically? The answer they where avoiding as many possible sources of a leak as possible.

Check your facts. This file is in fact a well known fan fic called "The Seventh Horcrux" which is posted on any number of websites; you can easily find it.

So it isn't JKR's book seven, of course, but neither is it a 'fake' in the way you and the first two answerers mean. The writer has NOT pretended that this is a real book seven manuscript. If someone else is trying to get people to believe that it is, its extremely unfair and the record should be set straight. And no, I am NOT the writer of it, just read the first few chapters at the link below.

That's a fake. JK has already said that the last word of the last book is "scar" and besides that...the last book is protected under lock and key and only a select few have advanced copies after signing confidentiality agreements.

Nope. Fakityfakefake!

Fake. Look at the last word of the story itself. Someone has never bothered learning anything about what Rowling has said, otherwise the last word would have been scar rather than death.
