...of those you've been to, or have even met a lot of people from.

My picks are Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. Surprisingly, I've had had great luck with people from Wyoming and Michigan, also.

I live in Kentucky. There are some nice folks here, sure, but overall it's not very polite or congenial on the surface. In fact, most of my next door neighbors don't wave back when I wave at them...seriously.

My goal is to move to Texas. I've met some jerks from there, sure, but you'll find some of those every place. About 90% of the people I've met from there are those whose company I've enjoyed!

I have consistently found that the friendliest people anywhere are Iowans. Sure, we've encountered friendly people everywhere, but Iowans will just give and give and give. If your car breaks down, they will not leave your side until they are positive you are all set, even if it takes half a day, and then, if they *have* to leave, they'll call a brother or a cousin to come take care of you. They are amazing people.

Hey! I'm from Wyoming so I appreciate your comment about the people here. I've traveled through Kentucky a number of years ago and I couldn't believe how green and stunning everything was there.

One thing I noticed is that lots of people from Texas move up to Wyoming. I think it's because Texas and Wyoming are the two big "Cowboy" states and people in Wyoming & Texas seem to have the same kind of attitudes.

I lived in Houston for a bit, and if you're interested in Texas I would try to find somewhere around Dallas and San Antonio. In the few years I lived in Texas all I heard from Houstonians and Texans was how much better north Texas was compared to southern Texas. I would give Texas a shot if I was you. It's a great state with a lot to offer.

Certainly not Home Depot. That place is scary and hostile and lonely. LOL

I can say that Iowa and Minnesota are full of nice and helpful people. I live in Wisconsin and while people tend to be freindly sometimes it's hard to get them to acknowledge you...in kind of an "east coast" way.

I agree, Texas is probably the most friendly state in all the one's I've been in. California people are pleasant, but way too self centered to actually give a care about anybody.

I lived the last 10 years in Dallas, where people could really give you some attitude! Last year I moved to Wichita Falls (Texas) and the people here are very, very friendly and helpful and nice!!

Too bad there's nothing to do here! lol

I'm from Texas and I agree with you. People here are friendly and caring. Small towns are friendlier than cities, but anywhere in Texas is great.

I think southern people are the most friendliest people. I live in the midwest right now and there are so many rude people here.
