Just tell people it's a 2 GB flash drive that is compressed to 4 GB. Then you don't have to worry about anything.

Of course not.

If someone sold you a 4GB drive and when you got it home discovered that it was really a 2GB drive, you wouldn't think it was ethical (unless you enjoy getting ripped off.) And that's your answer.
