I think Michael Jordan is the only obvious selection. After that is when the arguing would begin... Muhammad Ali? Babe Ruth? Bill Russell? Magic Johnson? Hank Aaron? Jack Nicklaus? Jim Brown? Brian Bosworth? Okay, I'm kidding on that last one. I'm looking forward to seeing your opinions on this. As hard as it may be, please give me only four names...

I would have to agree almost wholly with another post.
Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson and Ali. But I would replace Billie Jean King with Wayne Gretzky because he dominated hockey the same way Ruth dominated baseball. Open for debate.

Players- Jordan, Ruth, Gretzky, Ali (or Montana if you want four major sports)

Coaches- Lombardi, Auerbach, Bowman, Landry or Shula (I don't think any single baseball manager is worthy)

Michael Jordan, Joe Montana, Wayne Gretzky (even though Canadian) and Sandy Koufax

Babe Ruth. (Popularized sports among the masses)
Jackie Robinson. (A huge sociological impact)
Billie Jean King. (Opened up sports to both sexes)
Muhammad Ali. (The first truly world figure)

(If you want to add influential executives, I would go with Pete Rozelle and Roone Arledge.)
