i prefer buffet cos there's more variety to choose from

Buffet because of the variety and you don't need to wait for your food. Plus you can eat to your heart's content.

neither. I like to order off of a menu and have the side dihes all come with the entree. Ala Carte costs too much and so does a buffet.

The only downfall for the buffet, is that you really do (or at least I really do) tend to over eat.
Other than that one little problem, I would say, buffet.
