My computer works, but it doesnt work well...It normally works VERY poorly, but everything (mostly) that I need done on it, it'll do (with complications but Ive learned to work around them)

last night my computer randomly shut itself off while I was in the middle of doing something and today I loaded it up and its like....A BRAND NEW COMPUTER!!!
there are no files on it, every single file I had on it is deleted (not a problem nothing important lol) and its actually...WORKING...as weird as it sounds thats unsettling to me...what has my computer done to itself? Why is it all of a sudden actually working? Any answer would help

I dont know why kind of hard drive I have (theres not name on it or anything) and its been working poorly for a while, and all of a sudden today its actually working like a computer should be.....why?!?!

any answer would be helpful because my parents have been thinking of buying me a new computer...so if this one is working I dont need a new one...HELP!

It could be it had some kind of spyware, virus, or trojan software that was causing it to be slow and then erased all of your data and started your computer clean somehow (very strange.)

Seriously doubt it was heat related or a power supply as that would not have deleted your data like that.

Best to get some free spyware, virus and trojan scanners downloaded from the internet to run on your computer to check for anything malicious.

If after scanning you find some stuff, then that may be your answer, if nothing is found, it may have wiped itself out too. If nothing else goes wrong and your computer works good from now on, then I guess all is better and forget what happened, but be sure to backup your data on a removable drive (flash) or cd often just in case.

Good luck.

A virus usually introduces an error that would cause a shutdown. Then when you restart your computer, it would load ahead of everything so that it could disable your antivirus, regedit, task manager and other tools you could use against it. Then, it could start doing its thing. Some would attack the OS, others, your files.
It looks like the virus in your PC is hungry for files and it could still be lurking in there. It might be best to reformat and reinstall your OS.

shutting off is most likely from a bad power supply or overheating... if you have it in a closed area, move it to a spot that is open so it gets more airflow. also open it up and blow it out with canned air every few weeks or monthly so it doesnt get dusty and conduct electricity to where it shouldnt. if this doesnt help, buy a new power supply. if your computer is older, a 350watt from tigerdirect.com should be fine. they have them for 15 bucks and like 5 bucks shipping. gl!! :)

No, ghosts can't use desktops. They haven't any bodily variety. Demons and such a lot different creatures can, despite the fact that that does not imply you desire to fulfill them. Demons aren't identified for gambling good with others. I do not think mermaids can, despite the fact that. Water and electronics simply do not combine.

in my opinion it sounds like you have a virus..everything on there is deleted..wow ..sounds like someone sent you a virus that took everything from your hard drive ..i would try to do a system recovery..and see if that helps..then i would try to get an antivirus program to keep your computer safe from viruses and trojans etc..i like to use protector plus..its from norton and its free for 30 days..go to protector plus.com click on free download...if not i would say maybe that satan has overtaken your computer..lol jk..but id definately run a virus scan..sounds suspicious to me...good luck
