A loss is a loss no matter how bad or how close, but either way it stinks for the team and the fans...would you rather watch your team lose a heart breaker by one or two runs or with a blow out?

Me? I'd rather not suffer the demoralizing losses the Rockies have been handing the Mets this week. I would rather lose by one or two....

Personally I never cared about blow-outs .I could easily laugh them off ,But one run games would drive me up a wall. I'd be walking around after the game going " One more run ? We couldn't get one more friggin' run against these guys ?WTF is wrong with us ?"

I would be less crushed emotionally if my team loses with a blowout, but I would rather watch my team lose by a heart breaker because they wouldn't lose as much respect. Respect is very important in all sports because a lot competitors know how good of a player or a team you are, so if you lose by 10 runs one day, and the next day you're playing against a whole different team, that other team knows that they're capable of winning. So, I would rather watch my team would lose a heart breaker.

A Blow Out! A heart breaker could mean losing game seven of the world series, while a blow could just mean losing by 10 runs in a regular season game. 1 out of 162. not that bad...

I'd say heart breaker, cuz it would imply that the game was close toward the end, which is what any fan would want if they paid lots 'o cash to go to the game.

But....a win's a win....a loss is a loss, no matter what the score.

I would rather lose the nerve-racking heart breakers, then have my team get completely smashed.

but at the time of the game with the nerves etc, I think that I would have rather lost by a big margin, but then when you reflect on the game and find the positives that somehow makes close loses easier to handle.

there is a phrase about every dog has it day , iwould rather lose close because it means not only hope ,but things can happen so easily but with a blow out even thoughit is only one loss a bad loss tend to hang with a team longer, and you waste more players trying to stop the bleeding.

Blowout, that way I can sneak out during the 6th inning and not worry about missing anything. It's easier to take the season into perspective with a blowout: it's just one bad game out of 162, it's a long season, etc. It's easier to talk your way through it to not feel bad. Losing a heart-breaker literally can wrench your insides, there's no way to feel any better about it, because you think your team could've pulled it out, they could've hung on.

A loss is a loss--it doesn't really matter to me, and it sure shouldn't matter to the players. They're supposed to be professionals.
Myself, I take losing at anything as a personal affront and an embarrassment, no matter what the margin of victory was for the opponent. I learn from my mistakes, and keep working on it until I win. Losing sucks now matter how it happens. . . .

blow out

when I lose in a blow out I'm thinking hey it still only counts as one loss, but a heart breaker can sometimes just leave a bad taste in my mouth

A blowout. Sometimes you just plain get beat and lose.

Squeaker games -- well, they're usually winnable if only there had been the right execution at one or two moments.

But a blowout? No real chance, and sometimes that's what happens.

well i don't like either but a blow out b/c you know they already lost AND a close game you keep on thinking about what if they did or the other run scored and stuff like that but a blow out is a little easier to take in my opinion
