Hi everybody.
While I was watering my roses today, I noticed a big ugly spider just sitting on the wall.
It didn't have a web, and it was just sitting there.
It was tan.
It...must not be a spider, because it has 6 legs, but it looks very fat, and just like one!
I couldn't get too close to it, so it just looked...hollow, like an empty shell.
It had pinchers.
What horrible breed did I find?

Was it slit down the back? You probably found a cicada shell or locust shell. Can you get us a picture?

Not knowing exactly where you are located, it is difficult to say, but it sounds like it could be the dreaded looking but pretty harmless Sun Spider or Solpugid. Here's a picture, is this it?

Pretty nasty looking things, we had them all over the place when I lived in AZ. ICK!

Sounds like a beetle...since you mentioned the pinchers and the fact that it only had six legs...

Most likely... Mothman. (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/1c/Mothman.jpg) Proceed with caution. If you see Richard Gere- run!

Second most likely is the chupa cabra. Best to leave it be. ;-)
