There are a lot of things you have to think about.
1. Some of those reality shows would never make it the U.S, due to complaints.
2. Some of the reality shows are only shown at night, past 11pm and upon occasion, viewers get angry and demand the show be taken off the air.
3. Morality and what is or isnt acceptable on tv GREATLY varies between Japan and the U.S.
