I find that when people tell me things that I do wrong, I have a tendency to immediately deny what they are saying. Its hard for me to accept criticism.

Does anyone else feel this?

It is difficult for anyone to hear criticism because it is often, difficult to make changes. It is also a fact that SOME criticism is NOT CONSTRUCTIVE. Constructive criticism is the type of criticism that includes the positive as well at the negative side of ones job performance and offers realistic and considerate solutions to identify and to facilitate the desired changes. It takes most people time to do a personal evaluation of their own job performance but it is possible to make changes when the need for the specific change is made clear and specifically identified (lateness to work, for example). The answer is most people do feel as you do because most people do what they personally feel is their best and no one likes to hear that their "best" is not enough.
No criticism is effective on any job or anywhere else, unless it is truly, CONSTRUCTIVE.

If you really think about it... not all people who claim to be giving constructive criticism are. Some people just need to cut you down to feel better about themselves.

either you are stubborn, or you think you're better than them therefore you cannot take advice from someone lower than you. and keep in mind, telling you what you do wrong isn't constructive, it's telling you how to get better, that would be constructive
