JJ Redick has a great shot but he choked every year at the NCAA tournament. He can't handle pressure and that's no good. No NBA player wants you on the team if you can't be there at crunch time because NBA players get a bonus check every game they advance in the playoffs (that's the NBA gets good during playoffs because they play like they actually care).
JJ will not be seeing any playing time. His game is similar to Trajon Langdon who played for Duke years ago (sorry can't spell the name). Coach K loves shooters, hence Langdon and Redick, but where is Trajon now? Nobody knows? He was drafted and in the league for a little while. In the NBA you cannot just be a shooter, you have to be a scorer. Coach K was a drill sergeant and ran an offense with a lot of screens. In the NBA that does not happen coaches in the NBA can't make their players do anything---they try but really what can you do to Ben Wallace, oh yeah fine him $5000 for his hair? You have to make your own shot because if Shaq doesn't feel like setting you a screen, guess what, he's not going to set you a screen. Ask Kobe, he learned the hard way.
JJ may last 5 years tops unless he develops a serious cross-over

Redick has the talent (obviously shooting) but not the size and athleticism. He's about 6'4'' which is small for an NBA shooting guard. His athleticism is what really kills him...he's not quick enough to guard a PG or strong enough to take on a bigger SG. He's a lot like Ben Gordon...minus the athleticism. Gordon is also an undersized guard who can't play defense but has a great jumper. Gordon, however, has the rise on his jumpshot that allows him to shoot it over just about anybody in the league. His upper body strength also makes up for his height. Unless Redick can develop stuff like that (ie get about 20 times more athletic), he won't do much in the NBA other than be a specialty shooter.

there's no question that he has adequate ability to play the subsequent point. He broke the ACC record for many 3 preparation made, and gained the Naismith, NABC and John R. wood awards. those trophies not in basic terms mirror excellence contained in the enjoying container, yet in addition dedication to teachers. a lot of human beings would shrug off psychological ability, yet coaches, commonplace managers and basketball proprietors honestly do not. rather contained in the factor shelter place a participant that would perceive and understand many factors of a opposing group throughout a game can help his very own earnings an benefit. JJ would maximum be the fabulous 3 picked yet i may be taken aback if he went any under 10 contained in the 1st around.

He is a designated shooter and at 6'4 190 lbs and has a hard time matching up with athletic guards. He will come off the bench for most of his career unless he will follow the route of RipH or KirkH. He could be the excellent mid-range shooter who is relentless on defense or be a combo guard that could play both PG and G positions. Right now the best option would be Magic, Lakers, Spurs, Cavs and Bulls. They are contenders needing firepower off the bench.

JJ is still with Orlando isn't he? I don't know, he might be better off going to a team where he might get a chance to play more minutes. He reminds me of Bobby Hurley except JJ is much better shooter.

being a Duke fan, I do see JJ having a fine pro career and he will be a very good player someday, probably with Orlando...
Keeyon Dooling was hurt for part of last season and thats when JJ saw significant inutes and began scoring 10+ points some nights...
He just needs to break into Orlando's top7, then go from there...
He reminds me a lot of a not so point guardish Steve Kerr

I don't see him getting meaningful minutes. He is a liability when on the floor, yea he can shoot, but he can't create his own shot and he can't play defense. He will never become a leader, he will just be a role player, just a shooter, damn good one at that, but like bruce bowen said "on the playground you wouldn't get to play unless you played some D" Coaches would rather have a decent scorer a good defender. Look at Kirk Hinrich, he is a decent scorere and an excellent defender.

Well first things first, don't compare him to Ray Allen Garry H because JJ can't play defense.
Apparently Orlando is poised to give him more time. I think he'll turn into a role player shooter.

My opinion he will get playing time sooner or later, i compare him to Kyle Kover, maybe Michael Reed or Ray Allen one day. I feel he is one of the best shooters in the league but not use to NBA pace yet

i see jj as being more like a steve kerr type player. all he does is shoot every team needs someone like that. so thats what will keep him around in the league no telling what team he will be with but he will definetly have a job unless he goes the way of trajan langdon.
