I have!
Like one time on "The Love Boat" series in the 70's/80's, Florence Henderson (yeah..."Mrs. Brady") sang Willie Nelson's "On The Road Again"...it was just AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, it was waaaaaaay worse than AWFUL! There;s no words to tell you how totally bad it was!!!!!!!!!!

And in the grocery store recently, I heard on their satellite radio station, a woman singing "Rose Garden" and it WASN'T Lynn Anderson! I figured it's a modern version by one of these current "country" singers. It sucked big time!

And lastly, I love Conway Twitty's singing, but even he slaughtered a song once... his version of "Danny Boy" made me want to cry...for all the wrong reasons! ARGHHHHHHH!!

Caveman & Fool 4 Tommy Collins, you are both so right about what has happened here. This is suppose to be Classic Country which in my book is the REAL country music. . I do not consider Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood or Rascal Flats to be country and there's a lot of others that fit into the catagory. Can't believe you got a violation for Bimbo!! That was a very popular song. I don't have much time to spend on here but I'll be on your millers cave site.

LOL. Yeah, I've heard a few that made me wanna loose my lunch before. I like Mark Chesnutt, but he had a version of friends in low places that made me wanna order a quadruple shot of southern comfort and call it a night, lol. Just about every rock singer who thought they could do a classic country song has failed miserably as far as I've seen thus far. And whoever told rappers that rap and country mix was definitely smoking something illegal when they came up with that idea, lol. And what is up with these wannabe country singers today. Never mind the way they dress or look, which is awful enough, but some of them can hardly carry a tune in a bucket, let alone sing all night long. So to answer your question, yes I've heard a few and I know where you're coming from. Take care, and may God Bless.

I know what you mean!! It's so aggravating!! It's really awful when you hear an artist that you know is gifted in their own right butchering someone else's song. I can imagine what a nightmare the Love Boat incident was!
What do you think of Big & Rich's version of You Shook Me All Night Long?

I have to agree with Okiefan. Whitney Houston slaughtered Dolly's "I Will Always Love You." The only good that came out of the success of Houston's version was that Dolly got plenty of royalties out of the deal.

Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland sang "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia" & I thought I was going to die. I just despise her voice. It annoys the hell out of me. 2D

Where I work we have a band come in a lot and play for the customers. Sometimes they'll play some Johnny Cash or whatever and it is almost ALWAYS horrible. It makes me cringe and I just want to wrestle those guitars away from them and hide them! Just - DON'T - butcher. Please!
