a person's lack of personal responsibility allows a person to "blame" external factors for their problems. I agree that minority women have a double mistreatment. Being at college, I see how men look at the women.... Like a conquest.
I admit that I have stared at a women for too long a time period. My female friends have told me that their limit is 5 seconds. Then they tell me that they feel "creepy".
I am trying.

Who said we were mistreated. You are only exposed to what you allow. I'm good. I am not a victim. I am a queen and demand to be treated as such. Women have more power than you think Honeychild... Get some age on you and you will understand...

as a black women i can say we are treated badly for the same reasons other women might feel the same.
1-we're women and as much as our society has progressed, they're are people who still believe we are beneath men
2-it's a cultural thing, racially and religiously, this can be shared by many different women who exist in a culture where men are favored and going agaisnt the norm causes conflict. doing so causes some to demean and subordinate women and make us feel like crap...
the point being it's not just black women, we all share the same discriminations and insults because we are women and those ideas still exist...women of minority anywhere share it-we just happen to be more vocal about it seems lol

Some people still have old opinions of Black people and women. Some people think that Blacks are inferior and so are women if your Black and your a woman it's sort of a double minority. Of course we all know that it isn't just Black women it's all women which is unfortunate because we have so much to offer.

yeah it all comes down to racism - blaming hip hop is a prime example....whenever minorities treat women bad its a problem. just another thing to blame minorities for instead of actually working together to fix the problem.
and you are such a sweetheart! star 4 you

Yeah, black women are not the only ones... However I have watched enough Oprah to acknowledge a difference in the way they tend to be disrespected. Something is just wrong in the world. Why don't we ask questions about WHAT we can do to change it instead of WHY it's happening?
