The question asks about an "original" meaning only your family and yourself have this ritual. For instance, for july 4th, every one or most have fireworks. you and your family, however, celebrate this holiday by going to a specific beach and having dinner on the beach (as an example). Don't care about the english and blahblahblah.... your own ritual? that's what i am asking. for.

Based on some of the answers, I will define ritual and would like to remind everyone which category is the question in: Anthropology.
A ritual:
prescribed, established, or ceremonial acts or features collectively, as in religious services.
any practice or pattern of behavior regularly performed in a set manner.
a prescribed code of behavior regulating social conduct, as that exemplified by the raising of one's hat or the shaking of hands in greeting.
Psychiatry. a specific act, as hand-washing, performed repetitively to a pathological degree, occurring as a common symptom of obsessive-compulsive neurosis.
