Have you considered the birth control pill? Only 4 periods a year, and no menopausal symptoms.

There's another less invasive procedure where they go in and basically sear the inside of your uterus. You'll not have kids, you'll not have periods, and you can get back to work quickly.

A hysterectomy is major surgery. You will not be fully recovered for 6-8 weeks. And if they take the ovaries too, you may end up taking hormone replacement therapy.

I'm just a lay person, and you could probably get better advice from a medical professional. Good luck.

I asked someone the same question about my period. He is a natural pathic doctor. He told me that he has seen worse things happen to women who had a hysterectomy. I changed my note quickly.

I have better periods when I don't eat chocolate, milk, sweets, or lots of carbs just before it comes. And I take pain pills, acetominophen, a few days before it comes too. That helps dramatically. Of course I take pain pills when I have it too, but the issue is being sure to take precautions as much as possible to avoid so much cramping and being not uncomfortable.

I go through the same thing every month, but my doctor won't even discuss hysterectomy (I'm very close in age to you). That is major surgery for these symptoms, and I'd be surprised if they'd do it for you without "medical necessity". My doc is putting me on birth control pills in an attempt to decrease or minimize my symptoms.

Good luck!

You might not have the sex drive that you had before. If you decide to take Hormone Replacements, you could be at risk for Breast Cancer because some of the types of Breast Cancers are dependent on Estrogen.

Dont get one unless you need one. My mom is 32 and she had one when she was 26 cause she had cancer.. And she told me shes never in the mood for sex. Shes moody and she hurts sometimes.. I would suggest not getting one unless you need it...
