As though he's not working for us anyway, so who cares?

Yes, anyone that thinks they can do no wrong is dangerous, in the president, well we've seen where that leads.

The President of America should care what the American people think, period.

I'm actually not that bothered by his indifference to criticism. In a certain way, it's even sort of admirable. It's mostly a good thing to have a leader who stands up for what he believes in, even if it's politically harmful.

What is a problem, though is his indifference to isolation from reality. Somebody needs to tell Bush that taking and sticking to an unpopular stance is really impressive only if you're right. If you're like Bush and just wall yourself off from the abundant evidence that you've screwed up, it's just arrogance.

No. What I'm disgusted about is that Americans have put up with him this long.

I can remember when we were a brave and freedom loving people who wouldn't bend the knee to tyrants just because a bunch of ragheads were making noises.

19 arabs with 3 airplanes totally punked this country. And we accepted the misnamed PATRIOT act and even reelected der Shrub, knowing him for a liar who didn't have America's interests at heart.

That's what disgusts me. Nobody in Bush's whole family has ever been worth the breath to damn them. But I expected better of the Sovereign American People.

I have known for a long time that he is not working for the people. He could not care any less for us, if he tried. I expect nothing else from him. But, it does scare me that there are still some people who cannot, or will not see the truth about this man, and still think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread! What is with the blindness of these people? *sm*

President Bush is the perfect example of a leader. One who does not care what people think, what is popular, or what may be the easy way.

I am glad that we have a forum that lefties can show their intellect. Nice comments! Show some respect and class!

Maybe we should have an election for every piece of legislation that comes through. if that were the case, abortion would be illegal as would gay marriage. Somehow, I don't think lefties would like that.

A president can't really do the job without being somewhat indifferent to criticism.

I am much more bothered by his actions than his attitude.

Yes! It is absolutely ridicoulous. Some deluded people may mistake that for "courage", when it is obvoisely just a case of him being the most difficult and stupid president this nation has ever seen.

No not at all, it is a normal reaction to his situation. If your neighbor is a woman or man, she/he would salute you and act normal every time you meet with her/him, but if you discover that she/he is really a prostitute, and all the building finds out, than her/his attitude changes to that of, I don't care what you think of me.

I don't think he's done everything right...but, ya know what; I don't give a damn what anybody thinks about me and I'm a nobody!

Not to mention, he's had incredibly high ratings for doing the same stuff he's doing now...what's a guy supposed to think. That we Americans are fickle and change our minds depending on how the wind blows!

Yes, I think he should trust us enough to have the conversation that everybody in America wants to have with him. You know, the one you used to always have with your parents.
" Were very dissapointed with you George, we thought you would make a wiser decision, but we know you have great potential so use your better judgement. We forgive you. I think all of us want him to prove us wrong. Pride will always come before the fall. He most lay down his pride and say forgive me, I'm only human!
