St Patricks Day is just whites. Stop misusing the term black Irish to fit what you want it to mean. It doesnt mean black people it means white Irish people with dark hair, so get it right. There are no black irish people. I know you are all desperate to be white and St Patricks day is the one day you can shine in that one brief moment and pretend to be white but guess what your not. You black people have Martin Luther King Day

That's really not very hospitable of you, there now, me girl, stop that immediatly.
Everyone becomes Irish on St. Patrick's Day. I suppose you must be one of the snakes that the dear Saint drove out and you just happened to settle over here.
Stop it. Reverse-racism isn't pretty.

first of all, many others who are not irish also celebrate st. patricks day just because they happen to be white doesnt mean it is any different. Also, there probably is many black irish people, it is quite possible for a black couple to have a child in ireland or for someone to be biracial, which would make them irish and have just as much right to celebrate st. pat's day. Since st patricks day became a holiday in other countries besides ireland then that must mean it is to be celebrated by anyone who wishes to. and for the record im not black so i am not writing this as a bias person.

to the racist B***h who started this forum, I have no clue what gene pool spawned you but it must have came from Southern sons of the Confederacy, are you a Geneologist to where you can put stats that say that no Irish person has ever had a child with a Black person which would make them Half Irish.
We Black people have Martin Luther King Day which is the day that your lilly white priviledged but received pay and off for, the day was made a holiday in recognition of Dr. King fighting for the rights of all ethnic backgrounds you idiot.Maybe you need some black penis in you to widen your horizons

The United States Of America is essentially "a multi-cultured country"- so it follows that there will be others (though they may not be of the same ethnic-background directly relating to a holiday), who will want to celebrate if there is some fun going on & to acknowledge/honor contributions made by other people even though their ancestry is from somewhere different. I have no problem with the many different holidays in our country here (rather they're legal-national holidays like "Thanksgiving" or "Christmas" -or- cultural holidays like "St Patrick's Day" or "Cinco De Mayo". The great thing about our country here is our freedom-of-choice; we can celebrate if we want to or we don't have to. It would be nice if there were an American holiday to acknowledge & honor the original Americans who were here thousands of years before any of the other immigrants came over in the last hundreds of years.

That's just sounds racist! It's a holiday and ANYONE can celebrate what they want. White people can celebrate Martin Luther King Day! Also not every white person is Irish and nobody says ANYTHING about them celebrating St Patricks Day!

Wow someone is misinformed. First I don't celebrate St Patricks, secondly Martin Luther King day isn't just for blacks, I bet you don't mind getting that day off do you?

Plenty of non-Irish celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I know Polacks who celebrate it, do they have any less right to celebrate the holiday? What about people who have French ancestry, or German, or Italian? Do they also have less of a right to celebrate? Why focus on one race that may have people who just like the excuse to get drunk? I personally don't really celebrate St. Patrick's Day, I just wear green so I won't be pinched. But what's wrong with someone wanting to, that's there business, not yours.

Honestly, I don't really care. St. Patrick's Day is just one big Irish stereotype in the first place. I am part-Irish, and I sure as hell don't want people associating me with leprechauns swigging beer and getting high over clover. Don't get me wrong though - I do understand where you're coming from.

There are credible sources for the African association with Ireland. The most likely of these is that they were Phoenicians and/or Egyptians. The Berbers perhaps set sail from western Morocco, and settled on Ireland before the Celts, making it their new home.
