even USA is rich country, what can we do about. Does it mean that for some people its better to be rich than to have education?

I agree with some of the other ideas mentioned but I think it also has to do with the location. In Europe, there are so many countries close together and they're all very different. Students there have more available to them and experience more. Students also have to learn more about not only their country, but the others around them if they want to succeed in the future, since they'll grow to eventually have to interact with some of those countries.

In the US, we'll have to interact, but theres no real pressure. Everyone for the most part, speaks english. We can live in Kansas and do business with California and it's no problem. If you live in Germany but want to trade with Spain...there are many things you have to learn.

That's just my opinion from what I've experienced.

No worthwhile jobs anymore. I grew up where GM employed allot of people. Now they shut all the factories down. Just wait till China wants our gold for every dollar. Are you all blind. Think about it, I have answered your question with a question! Is the president blind?

I don't think education is valued enough here. Sports seem to rule. We need an attitude change toward learning.
