If youre on a normal hormonal contraceptive pill (levlen) and you suspect youre pregnant and take a pregnancy test, can the fact that youre still taking the pill affect the accuracy of the test??

As Greyhare so aptly and accurately stated, the pregnancy test detects HCG, which is produced by the placental site starting at the time of implantation.
(Pills contain estrogen and progesterone -- neither of these effect the pregnancy test.)

Do i get a thumbs down, too??

Nope, the hormones in the pill are not the same hormones your body produces when pregnant. And as long as you've taken your pill correctly, there is less than a .1% chance of pregnancy. Good luck.

No, because the hormone that you are testing for isn't affected by the Pill.

No, the test is looking for HCG, and the pill doesn't contain that hormone.

EDIT: Why would you thumbs-down me for that? I jsut answered the lady's question, and honestly, from experience!
