me and my best friend were supposed to have this huge party and i found out the next day i had a funeral to go to and my friend got mad for going to it instead of the party am i a bad friend for not going or is she just selfish? (she only wanted me to go so i could help her get her first boy friend)

She was selfish and also insensitive to the fact you had a death affect your family. She should be ashamed of herself.

You're not a bad friend. You were doing the right thing. A funeral is more important than a party and if she just wanted you to come to the party just because she wanted to get a boyfriend then she is being really selfish.

I don't think you would be considered a bad friend. Forget about the party the funeral is more important. I don't understand why she would be mad at you. You can only go to a funeral once and its for a good reason you can help your friend find a boyfriend any time. So no I don't think you are a bad friend. I would have done the same thing as you.

Well obviously you had other arrangements, that are more, I hate to say it, but more important than that party. Not that she was being selfish or anything, just upset that you didn't go, really. That doesn't make you a bad friend because you had to go to something that had more of a meaning than your friends party and some guy... Sorry to hear about your loss.

Your friend is a bad friend. You had to go to a FUNERAL. Someone dying is upsetting and hurtful and she's mad because she wanted a boyfriend. You're a good friend and you sound like you have a good heart. (Sorry for your lost)

Your not a bad friend...I would have went to the party instead because I love my BFF too much to lose her and we knew each other too long no matter what was going on.But she just feels that if she ever needs you,you will leave her and you have to show her it's not your fault and you will always be there for her.
