My first instinct would be that he's simply running into it by accident. But it's also possible he's confusing his reflection with another fish and attempting to attack it.

The info requested by five speed would certainly help! Some common reasons for this are that you've got an active fish in a tank that doesn't allow enough swimming room, or the fish is a territorial/aggressive species that sees its reflection and is trying to attack the "intruder".

Could be a pH problem with the water. Get a pH test kit from your pet store and a pH adjustment powder to use if necessay. Consult the fish experts while you're at the store as well.

What is wrong with this question? You didn't say what kind of fish you have. You didn't say how big your tank is. How in the world is anyone supposed to give you a decent answer? Use a bit of brain next time.
