What is the difference? I have pink areola but no distinction on where the nipple is. Could someone explain?

The nipple is the part that stands out and becomes erect (hard) when you are cold, excited, etc. - contrary to what the other answerer said, milk comes mostly from the areola. anyway, if your nipples don't stand up above you areola, you could have inverted nipples, which can happen. It's not a cause for alarm though. Sometimes there is a difference in color between the two and sometimes there isn't.

The nipple is the actual thing where the milk would come out.

The areola is the darkened skin area around the nipple.

The distinction between the two might vary from one person to another.

Your areola is the coloured area the "tip" of your breasts.

The nipples are the little pointy-things a the centre of the areola.

Once you have kids, the nipple is essentially where the most, if not all of the milk comes from when they breast feed.
