Chicago seems to have a plan in place. That is key.

As for the person who said NY/NJ should.... they weren't in the running... also, your reasons make no sense. You don't need baseballs stadiums or football stadiums to host the olympics (neither is currently an olympic sport and thus a special stadium for them is... well.. useless). Generally, a new stadium is constructed. Chicago has a location planned for that stadium.

As for the person who said Russia already got it, that was for the Winter Olympics. Chicago is in the running for the summer.

As I think Chicago is the only city in the America's still in the running (I could be wrong), i think it has an excellent chance.

Absolutely, Chicago should host the 2016 Summer Olympics. Here are five reasons why I believe Chicago would make a great location for the Summer Olympics;

1. Chicago is a World Class City that is based on culture.

2. Chicago has excellent mass transportation.

3. A majority of the venues are close by.

4. There is plenty to do for international visitors to see and do.

5. The northern United States deserves to host an Olympics. The past Olympics in the United States has be held on the West Coast (Los Angeles and Squaw Valley, California), Northeast (Lake Placid, New York), South (Atlanta) and Central (St. Louis) but the Northern United States has never hosted the Summer Olympic Games.

Yes, the Windy City is the best place to hold the summer Olympics with Soldier Field and a city that takes its sports seriously. It also does not hurt to have an airport that is one of the largest in the world and a lake front second to none. It is also centrally located in the US and should have record crowds as more people can get to Chicago than say LA or NYC.

No. NY/NJ should. We'll have a brand new state of the art football stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, where most of the Olimpic games could be played. Two soccer stadium (one in Harrison, nj for the redbull and one in Queens for the NY Cosmo), two new baseball stadium and a sport complex next to Yankees Stadium, a new MSG next door to the old one, a new Nassau Colliseum in Long Island, and central park for all the ceremonies and Hofstra University for all the swimming crap.

And hopefully if politicians pull their head out of their asses we might have the freedom towers opened, but who knows. dont bet on it.
