I use to love rap and hip hop but now I'm so sick of it( sounds all the same) and so I've been getting into Rock more and more. Can anybody give me some suggestions on what are some good bands or songs that I can listen to?

anything mushroomhead. if you like rock/metal/death metal/techno/rap, youll like em! the rap part is more of like hip hop beats as background music in some songs. the only songs that come close to the one of singers rapping is 2nd Thoughts and Bwomp, but its not exactly rap. just check em out and ull see what im refering to.

Songs:

Becoming Cold (216)
2nd Thoughts
Never Let it Go
These Filthy Hands
43
Mother Machine Gun
The Wrist
Almost Gone
Destroy the World Around Me
The Dream is Over
Crazy
The New Cult King
Bwomp
Solitare/Unraveling
Damage Done
Simple Survival
Burn
Tattoo
12 Hundred
Save Us
Erase the Doubt
Kill Tomarrow
Sun doesnt Rise
One More Day
Our Own Way
Big Brother
Before I Die
Xeroxed
Eternal
Born of Desire
Too Much Nothing
Fear Held Dear
The War Inside

*this could be a great start for you because Mushroomhead covers so many genres. they have such a wide range. im glad to see you are getting out of rap and converting to rock. good decision on your part! :-)

Awesome decision! You are so right, rock music has much more meaning and creativity--they actually have instruments! Yea, there's some fun hip hop and pop out there but it's not as innovative.
For funky rock: RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS!! (a MUST, cuz you can still dance to it)
Another awesome rock band with a hip hop style is Sublime, so you don't have to completely abandon your roots.

Classic rock: Zeppelin, pink floyd, rolling stones, guns n roses
all awesome!

Whatever you do steer away from the mainstream rock..its all really bad.

I like indie/alt/old stuff
Radiohead, Pavement , Tokyo Police Club, Led Zeppelin, Jefferson Airplane, Bloc Party, U2, The Smiths, The Strokes, Sonic Youth, TV on the Radio, Arcade Fire, The Beach Boys, Velvet Underground.

and.. Girl Talk. its not rock, its more hip hop-ish but it is amazing.

To add to the list folks have provided, I would listen to old AC/DC, Clash, and Ramones for some rock with energy.
