It depends on the work.
Creative work I do alone.
Repetitive tedious work I like to do in a group.

I prefer to work in a group because it is a lot more helpful. But I prefer to work alone when I'm doing something very personal.

I find working in a group is a total disaster. There's no such thing as being a "team player". It's tedious having to explain yourself so that everyone is on the same page. It's frustrating having the same piece of work taking credit for your ideas. Only those with no fresh, original ideas like group projects which would also include the supervisors. A better solution is taking breaks with your friends and working alone.
