Pizza just doesn't happen on the 4th. You can't really grill it quite as easily as a hot dog. I don't think the restaurants of this fine country do very well either since we are all grilling out and watching fireworks. Perhaps a future generation will put 4th of July pizza on the map.

if it's a small business, it's probably because they have nobody to answer to, and they can take the day off if they feel like it. Plus, pizza isn't really popular for fourth of July, with all the hamburgers and hot dogs.

Chain pizzerias like Dominos, Papa Johns, and Pizza Hut might be open.

It's not just pizza places other stores are closed to like the market. Some stores are closed during holidays.

One because it's a holiday. Two it may not have been worth opening up and probably not making enough money to cover labor and all the other costs of opening up. Like the restaurant I work at. We were open and made nowhere near the money we would've on a regular day. It was completely dead. There wasn't enough in sales to cover labor let alone anything else.

Almost everything is closed on the 4th of July, hence it`s a holiday.

They like to celebrate ,too, and get a day off. And, it's a day for hot dogs and ribs on the grill, not pizza.
