I mean i like Evenesence and Linkin Park and Stone Sour type stuff but idk can't stand like Ashley Tisdale or something ewww or That stupid party like a rockstar song.

Rap has been looking for a direction for years....
Many thought Ludacris , Nelly or Snoop might have been picking up the ball... but they can do only so much when the gangsta cRAP pervades the airplay...
Rock and Roll went thru this during the late 70's when Disco was such a big thing......everyone was buying disco.. so rock artists stopped putting out albums for a while...

main stream artist use the selling chords. these chords always produce a catchy of decent song. the chords were beaten into us by the beatles GDC chords progressions or GDCFAm or A or whatever. with the main stuff look at the lyrics, if they're superficial or don't really make sense then it's probably just one of those songs.

90% of everything is crap - trouble is we don't know which 10% is the good stuff until we produce it and put it out there.
and it's always been that way - the only reason the past seems better is that we've thrown away all the crap.

Yep, like that song by LIL MaMa That goes My lip gloss is poppin my lip gloss is cool.. I have to admit I like that song, it's catchy, but dumb as hell. Same with most of the other popular stuff. It's the kids that are making it popular.

Evanescense is pretty decent, Amy Lee has an amazing voice. I agree though, that most popular artists today suck.
