I counted and it took exactly 247 licks before I got to the center of the tootsiepop. It took six chews to dissolve the center. My next scientific experiment will be to find out how many times you can poot after eating a can of beans.......

According to an experiment conducted by emptyv.org:
The average number of licks to reach the tootsie roll center of the tootsie pop was 412.7 but, since you cannot have a partial lick, round up to 413. The average time was 8 minutes, 48 seconds. So, you could say, it takes 413 licks to reach the center of a tootsie roll pop. But that would be ignoring other variables that may decrease or increase this number of licks.

No. Does anyone really care? It takes more than mere licks, however, my friend. You have to suck on a sucker. But the joy is in finally arriving at the center. No one bothers to count licks or sucks. What really sucks is finding one of those rare suckers that doesn't have the chewy, gooey center.
