Hi!
Well... I can't really say much about the tube top without seing it. And I really don't know what's your body shape. So, I'd have to trust you on that one.
I prefer tanks to tube tops if you are going for that casual look though, but it is FAR MORE IMPORTANT that you wear something that you are VERY confortable in. If any garment that you want to wear makes you even a bit self concious, avoid it!
About clothes, I can give you the following tips:
- Avoid clothes that are black and white (usually these are the colors used for backgrounds)
- Avoid clothes that have lines, stripes or square patters (video camera lenses go crazy with all of these!)
Other than that, if you are confortable, wear it. "Cute" is really not much of a direction. There are way too many kinds of "cuteness". Just think of the kind of cute that works for you and go for it. Don't try to be what you think they want, always BE yourself. It is better and very cool to get a job knowing that you were true and confortable with your own self, than to loose one because you were not. (And if you don't get this part, others will come, I assure you).
About the make up. If the audition is with a film camera, do not put too much make up on. If it is with a video camera, you can go a bit more crazy with your coverage (film is way more sensitive than video), but never over do it!
If you are 13, chances are they are looking for someone that looks and acts 13. Use very light make up to cover the things you may not like (spots, zits, etc.), a bit of blush and mascara. I'd stop there!
A nice tip I can give you: mix a liquid base with a bit of moisturizing lotion before you apply it on your face. It'll give you a nice glow, and a more natural look! ;)
About the hair: what someone above said is totally true: avoid having it on your face. Try using a hair dryer to shape it.
The best thing is to wear your hair loose to auditions. I don't recommend pony tails at all, unless you are way to unconfortable with your hair. What I do recommend, however, is that you bring a pony tail holder, just in case the casting director wants to see you with your hair up. If you feel like it once you go in, offer the two options and see what they tell you: but only if you feel confortable! ok?!
If you are taking about a basic audition (front, both profiles and turn), you won't sweat much. Now, if this is a acting audition, read the script they give you, and try to adjust a little to what it says. For example, if the scene is about a girl on a gym, well, the pony tail may be a good idea after all! It gives you a sporty look! (That kind of thing). The same thing if it is for a commercial and you know what the product is.
Now... relax!
And remember: BE CONFORTABLE! In your clothes, with your make up, with your hair, and with your own skin! That's what helps the most.
Don't feel bad if you see other girls at the audition that you think look "prettier" or "more cute" than you do. You don't know what the casting director wants! (And, between you and me, sometimes they also don't know it until they see it!)
Also... don't believe every conversation you hear when in a casting line. People can sometimes be just mean and try to intimidate those around by listing prior jobs or by just belting their Resumes, ok?!
Goodluck! And please, do tell how did it go!

I do not think you should wear a tube top. The make-up is OK but don't do it heavy. You don't have to look older try to act older. Also if somthing really funny happans laugh untill the casting director stops. You need to show that you won't be a pain in the butt backstage. The key is to stand out in a good way with your acting and look. I am 12 and went to an open audition with cama capris (with a stain), crocs, a RED shirt with my hair pulled back in a messy bun. I actully got a part on my first time!!!! I think that was the most nourishing experiance and I loved it!!!!

Tube Top = Bad
Tennis shoes are good because they are easy to move around in. Try a cute tank top. Wear your hair in loose curls with a clip to keep your hair out of your face. Blue jeans are comfortable, but so boring. Wear some cute shorts instead! But not short shorts. Bermuda style is best. Don't wear too much make-up. You don't want to go in looking like a clown, do you?

The biggest mistake I see as a director is girls with hair in their faces. Pull it back! No tube tops, and I'd avoid tanks, too - A director wants to see you, not your clothes - don't try too hard for a certain look - I'd like to see a 13 year old with no makeup (or just light mascara and lip gloss), wearing something the fits well, allows for movement and doesn't make the actor look self-conscious. You want to be comfortable and present your best self.

Do not wear a tube top or anything too revealing, but something you think makes you look "cute."
Don't wear makeup. They want to see what you look like; they'll know if makeup will make you look older. However, they may only want you for younger roles.
Wear your hair how you usually wear it.
Basically, be yourself. Don't try to be what you think they want you to be. Break a leg!

My best advice is to just go by what they said, but dress according to what the character would wear, or what the various characters would wear throughout the play. For example, are they slobs, or are they neat freaks? Also, don't be too over the top...focus primarily on your acting, because in the end, that's all that counts. Good luck!!! :D

A tube top is NOT appropriate for an audition. make-up bad idea. Always look your age for an audition, unless you are told otherwise. Don't worry about your hair.

Do not wear a tube top or anything you would wear out with your friends. You want to be taken seriously and look like yourself. Do not wear too much make up because they can tell and it will look cheap. Wear your favorite dress up shirt with a nice pair of pants or a skirt. Think about what you would wear to a summer graduation with your family. Do not wear anything that doesn't look like yourself. They want to see the best version of you. Not what you think they want to see.

One thing you should never dois go over your time so it's wise to be very prepared ahead of time. But don't rush through it, either.
